“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28

Sunset, sunrise, swiftly fly the years. The year 2022 brought us great joy and a peaceful outlook for the future. We can’t connect the dots of a future we have yet to see, but when we look back, the dots of the past somehow all make sense. Our lives have been called according to His purpose.

“There’s a house we can build. Every room inside is filled with things from far away. The special things I compile, each one there to make you smile on a rainy day.” – A Million Dreams

Over 30 years ago, we moved from the East Coast to California, and we’ve been in our current home ever since. This house is filled with beautiful memories: numerous birthday parties, Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas celebrations, and summers spent splashing in our backyard pool. The laughter within these walls has brightened our home, and we’ve experienced many joyful, fun, and colorful seasons here. Despite the hardships life has thrown our way over the years, they have gradually faded. We are truly blessed. After our retirement, we’ve had more time to focus on landscaping our yard. The splendor of God’s creation is reflected in our garden, and we sincerely welcome you to visit and share in the beauty of it with us.

“Art binds eternity to our soul and heart.” – Unknown

As I watched our granddaughter’s “dancing and singing” performance, I was reminded of my own childhood – how much I loved music and reading. Artists bring deep emotions and expressions into the lives of others. Art taught me how to dance, dream, give, and live. I admire artists and thank them for inspiring me to become the person I am today.

“You have forsaken your first love.” – Revelation 2:4

The story of David’s fight with Goliath, found in 1 Samuel 17, tells how the Lord helped David defeat Goliath without sword or armor. It’s a tale that inspires children, whose pure hearts truly believe in God. Living in today’s world is filled with challenges and giants, and often, we feel like we have little chance of winning our battles. But sometimes, giants are not what we think they are. Aging has granted me the opportunity to see and appreciate more of the underdogs, misfits, and disadvantaged people. I’ve begun to realize that nothing is truly in our control; everything is in God’s hands. I simply need to trust Him and love others as myself.
