“Counting our blessings, living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time.”
In 2014 (愛你一世), Yong and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary. For better or for worse, together we made it to this day. Over the past 39 years, we have gradually built a graceful bridge of understanding between us. Now, we enjoy simple pleasures—drinking McDonald’s coffee, just as we did 40 years ago, laughing at humorous TV programs, and learning to live with a grateful heart.

“You’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so… get on your way!” – Dr. Seuss
Chi married Mike this year. Over the years, I watched Chi strive to find her way in life. Mike has enriched her life, and today she is a confident and intellectual woman. Her face glowed at her wedding, and she is now ready to climb a new mountain. Yes, indeed; this is the wedding day that God has made. We are so happy for them.
“A child’s Miracle Mind for us to explore.”
This year, we spent lots of time with our granddaughters. Wei is a bright, sensitive, and proud first grader. Ro is a happy and sweet 4-year-old girl, and her smile can melt anyone’s heart. We treasure every moment with them. May went back to work this fall, and both she and Tom manage their life with faith and diligence. We trust that God will continue to guide them, and we are very proud of them. It reminds us of how we were not too long ago.
“At 70, follow the heart’s desire without crossing the line.” — Confucius
Jim and I are approaching our golden years. Aging helps us to better understand other people’s feelings, beyond what we can observe with our eyes or ears. We’ve learned to accept others and cope with our own differences. We reflect on Confucius’s own spiritual and intellectual milestones: “At 50, I know the will of Heaven. At 60, my ears are in tune. At 70, I follow my heart’s desire without crossing the line.” Sometimes, little things still puzzle us, but we remind ourselves how fortunate we are today. We are grateful and thankful.
“Many memories may lose their meaning, but we’ll still often stop and think about them.”
We want to thank God for giving us good health and spirit this year. We also want to thank our friends for arranging many exciting events that have brightened our lives. During this holiday season, we especially miss our friends everywhere. May God shine His light upon you and make all things bright. You are always in our minds and hearts.
